For landscapers

Landscapers: are customers finding you when they ask AI?

Landscaping is chosen on looks and word of mouth. Both of those now live in a search result and a review page.

The questions your customers are asking

“Who is a good landscaper near me?”

“How much does a retaining wall cost?”

“Who can lay turf in my area?”

Jobs we write your pages around: turf laying, retaining walls, paving, garden design, irrigation and decking.

Examples of what people ask, not results for your business.

Landscaping is not licensed. Half of what landscapers build is

There is no landscaping licence in NSW, which surprises customers and is worth explaining rather than glossing over. What is licensed is the residential building work inside a landscaping job: excavating, fencing, general concreting, wall and floor tiling and structural work all require a contractor licence once the job exceeds $5,000 in labour and materials including GST. A turf and garden bed job needs no licence; the retaining wall in the same quote may well. A landscaper who states plainly which parts they are licensed for, and which they subcontract to a licensed trade, is answering a question every careful customer has and almost nobody in the trade puts in writing.

The longest consideration window in the trades

Nobody wakes up needing a landscaper. The idea arrives months before the enquiry, it is shared between two decision makers who do not fully agree, and it is researched in pictures rather than words. You are not trying to win a single question, you are trying to still be there in three months when the conversation becomes a budget. The enquiry also arrives vague, because the customer genuinely does not know whether they want a deck or a paved area, and the business that helps them decide before quoting tends to be the one that quotes.

What AI assistants currently get wrong about landscapers

This is the trade assistants handle worst, because the work is visual and the answers are text. Ask for a landscaper and you get directories rather than businesses. The gap is closable in a way it is not elsewhere: describe your completed projects in words, with materials, slope, soil and what the site was like before, and you become the only readable option in a category of picture galleries.

What reviews actually measure in this trade

Landscaping reviews are photographs with sentences attached, and they age well because the garden matures. A three-year-old review with a recent photo reply is a stronger signal here than a fresh five stars with no detail.
