An AIS authorisation is a fact, and government sets your price
Being an Authorised Inspection Scheme station is the most searchable thing about a NSW workshop, because the pink slip is a legal requirement with a date attached and the fee is capped by government at $52 for a light vehicle rather than set by you. That is an unusual position: you cannot compete on price for the inspection, so you compete on being findable, being open when people can actually come, and being trusted not to invent repairs. Air conditioning work adds a second credential, since regassing a vehicle system requires an ARC refrigerant handling licence with an automotive endorsement, which is publicly checkable and which most workshops never mention.

A renewal date is a better lead than any ad
Mechanical work is the most calendar-driven trade here. Registration renewals, logbook intervals and pink slip expiry all arrive on a known date, so demand is predictable and the search is short: open now, close by, can do it this week. Opening hours are not administrative detail, they are the product, and Saturday trading is a genuine search filter. The pre-purchase inspection is the outlier and the most valuable enquiry you get, because the customer is spending thousands on the car and hundreds on your opinion, and chooses on perceived independence rather than convenience.
